According to Tomoko Sano. These ceramic artwork are made by kneading a small amount of porcelain and glaze into clay.
This makes them more durable and better fired than regular clay, even when made thin. The unique glaze composition gives them a smooth texture with a moist appearance. Thinly sliced clay is cut into shapes and attached to the pieces, which is the style of the work.
Each piece is individually hand-painted with gold accents depicting patterns such as rabbits and birds, and then fired.
