KiKi Studio

Nestled in the mountains of Hyogo Prefecture, Ki:Ki Studio is a creative haven led by husband-and-wife duo Hiroki Yamashita and Makiko Yamashita.

Hiroki, an architect-turned-ceramist, crafts minimalist animal sculptures from pure white clay. His works blend architectural precision with organic softness, evoking silent poetry in forms like curled rabbits and poised deer. Makiko, a visual artist, transforms rustic clay into whimsical canvases. Her hand-painted tableware bursts with nostalgic charm, featuring storybook scenes of cottages, forests, and playful creatures in earthy palettes.

Makico, While their styles contrast—monochrome serenity meets illustrative warmth—their creations resonate like the changing seasons. For the "Animal Tea Party" group exhibition, Ki:Ki Studio presents a curated dialogue: Hiroki’s luminous ceramic beasts meet Makiko’s narrative-driven vessels, embodying their shared philosophy—art thrives in duality.
