Aya Furusawa 古澤彩

Aya Furusawa is a Japanese ceramic artist currently residing in Osaka Prefecture. She graduated from the ceramics course at Kyoto University of the Arts Junior College and has been dedicated to ceramic creation ever since. Her works, characterized by imaginative designs and a warm texture, are deeply cherished. Drawing inspiration from daily life with her children and pet dogs and cats, she strives to create pieces that are both easily integrated into everyday life and filled with warmth.

Furusawa's ceramic world is a secret garden for those who remain young at heart. Using smooth, jade-like clay as her canvas, she employs whimsical strokes to sketch a fairy-tale forest-adorable dogs perched on the rims of cups by children, goblets shaped into various animal forms, creating a humorous and imaginative world. Each hand-painted pattern exudes a naive charm, with the soft curves of the pieces resembling clouds. Holding them in your palm feels like grasping a moment of childhood frozen by magic.

Life does not limit her imagination; instead, she strives to make her creations gateways to stories.
