TSUBAME RATTAN Mug

Swallow Melatan is a series that uses rattan in the standard swallow series. By wrapping rattan around the handle, the softness of the botanical accentuates the charm of the enamel and gives it an organic look. The color of the rattan part changes deeper with age.

The swallow series was manufactured by a long-established enamel maker in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture. Enamel is a baked glass glaze.

This enamel product is made of stainless steel, not ordinary steel. Taking advantage of the rust-resistant characteristics of stainless steel, it is possible to apply enamel directly without using a rust preventive, resulting in a thin and light finish. Enamel products made of stainless steel are rare in the world because of the difficulty of the construction method, and delicate and precise are required before they are finished. Each enamel and rattan product is made by craftsmen. Therefore, there are some individual differences in the finish, but if you look at it as two things, it will be very tasty. Please understand that the knots and uneven color of the rattan part are due to the natural characteristics of no coloring.
