Matsunoya 松野屋

Matsunoya(松野屋), founded in 1945, is an aramono life store dealing in daily tools made of natural materials. Aramono – miscellaneous daily items – is itself rarely heard these days. It includes brooms, dustpans, and sieves – the simple daily tools found in most homes just a few decades ago. Matsunoya staff visit local plants throughout Japan and Asia to purchase these items from small factories and off-season at farms. Working together with producers, we also develop original items meeting the needs of the age. Aramono and other daily goods include industrial handicrafts – not current “folk art” handicrafts. The original daily industrial handicrafts grew out of years of ordinary people making an honest living from practical goods at reasonable prices. We encourage our users to enjoy life more by using honest quality items for a more humanistic and natural lifestyle.
